Flowranger Air Boil System
Water Pond Technology
Flowranger Air Boil SystemAir Boil System Field Test

The air boil system is included in every Flowranger® waterfall filter. The injection of high volume air in the pre-flush phase greatly loosens buildup within the filter media, sending buildup to the bottom of the filter for flushing.

A quality Flowranger® air pump is needed to send air to the air boil system for the pre-flush cycle. Because it’s not necessary to always have air going to the waterfall filter, a simple installation of a valve and air tubing can be added along the pond plant shelves adding a higher saturation of oxygen and circulation to the pond.

Oxygen is vital to all pond life. There is 21% oxygen in the atmosphere and only 6-8 ppm in water, making oxygen a limited resource in man made ponds. A series of waterfalls will add oxygen but more often not enough. Bacteria and fish use oxygen, plants, on the other hand, produce oxygen during the daylight but also consume it 24 hours a day. So by increasing the oxygen levels in a pond but the addition of an air pump, you greatly increase the vitality of your eco system and make for a happier pond owner!

The Airboil upgrade.

Flowranger® Waterfall systems has developed a new innovation in backwashing upflow waterfall filters. Essentially, we’ve fabricated air diffusers to the bottom, and/or integrated to the internal media base. This integrated air diffuser is activated when your Flowranger ® filter media is adequately loaded with solids and debris. As rapid moving air bubbles baffle through the saturated media, the suspended debris loose buoyancy and fall to the bottom of the filter vessel, creating an efficient and effective cleanse of the media once the top-feed harness is activated for the final cleaning/flushing.
